The Gadfly had a nice, interesting article set on the great job the City of Southfield, Michigan is doing to overcome blight by actively buying (RAMADA- Downtown Development Authority bought it) or attempting to put problem Building Owners on notice of Issues (HOLIDAY RESORT HOTEL/ "MICHIGAN INN").

However, when questions about the Demolition and Asbestos extraction & removal came up for the OLD RAMADA INN on Monday, July 1st, a City Representative who I have been talking to for a week stopped giving me information. I was told to talk to the Official in charge of the Ramada site (which was different then the week before). I was not allowed to put a FOIA in per her wanting me to talk to this Official.
One of our
Investigators called and got no information today (July 2nd). I went down to talk to this Official. "NO COMMENT" after asking for a simple comment on the article. This sparked my curiosity. As in our
PI SCHOOL classes, we taught how to get information from governmental agencies. I guess we have to treat this article as real PI case.
