Big Boy Restaurants

Big Boy Restaurants is headquartered in Warren Michigan.  Their website tells us that the first restaurant was opened in Glendale California in 1936 when Bob Wian sold his DeSoto Roadster ( appropriate that there is a car involved with a Michigan story) to buy a hamburger stand.  He named it Bob's Pantry and in 1937 he created the first double-decker hamburger.  The iconic logo (pictured above) was based on a boy who would sweep up for a FREE hamburger and was sketched by a movie studio animator.
Just last week I had dinner at Big Boy - we went for the Strawberry Festival.  Big Boy has a good menu with lots to choose from.  If you go don't forget to get a piece of delicious strawberry pie.  The berries are huge and it is only $1.49.
The Gadfly Investigations Newspaper will have to take a ride to checkout the Big Boy Restaurants headquarters, I think we also need to get another piece of strawberry pie.
