A Festival of Oddities brings out the Weird Fun of All Things Macabre

Saturday August 4th was great weather for Michigan's premier Dark Art, Unique Hand-made Treasures and so much more Event- A Festival of Oddities!

Since 2019, Scream Queen Productions and the Courthouse Square Association have created a chance for local Mid-Michigan small Businesses, Artists and Charitable Organizations to show off their wares. The Community also benefits from this Festival. The Event is held at the Eaton County Museum at Courthouse Square.

THE VENUE

Courthouse Square Museum was originally a Court for the County but is now a Museum on the upper floors and business rentals on the bottom floors.

I didn't actually go in and look at the Exhibit in there as I was just having too much fun on the outside. There was an Special Exhibit called THE STURGILL COLLECTION on the inside. I will definitely try to hit it next year!

There were a ton of Vendors from Artists to Food Trucks. My Friend at 3 Heart Heart Art sells Dark Art included Sketches, Paintings, Small Art on magnets and hand-painted items such as Vases.

There were also Novelists of True Crime on one side of the Building. They were speaking to people and selling their respective books.

THE ENTERTAINMENT

The entertainment or Acts were great! There were a few Cosplayers like me- I don't know how I missed them. I did hang out with THE PLAGUE DOCTOR though. That was fun. We got alot of photographs with interested members of the crowd! I was there the whole day- I'm bummed I didn't see the other Cosplayers! You can see them in the official pictures though. The other Stages Acts I did catch- awesome!

They had the Events nicely spaced-out with dual performances by the Flo-Arts Performers. The Viking Clan with their Belly-Dancers were on one side of the Building. The other (Main) Stage was on the other side.

Crazy Weather roars through the Northeast States

Whether Hurricane Ida which touched the US around Wednesday in the Northeast or the possibility of "Global Warming" causing weird, strong rain & harmful weather- things seem to have changed.

Here in Michigan, heavy rainstorms in July & August caused Power-Outages and physical damage to property. Another consequence was the flooding of major roads & expressways in the Detroit Metro Region including the Southfield Freeway, the Lodge Freeway and I-94.

The Hurricane named Ida hit the Northeastern Coastal States this weekend- New York, Pennsylvania, Connecticut and New Jersey were given some horrible weather- flooding in New York City itself; Tornadoes reported in New Jersey and flooded streets and Freeways in these States. Louisiana & Mississippi were hit straight on by Hurricane Ida. At one point on Friday about 1 million people didn't have Power/Electrical Services.

 Some Experts say warmer air caused more moisture and the more violent weather. This "Global Warming" is from possibly from Society's industries bi-products- smoke, waste emissions and harvesting of plant life like trees to filter said bi-products. The other argument is just hat it isn't from Man but natural. Whatever the cause it culdn't hurt to product cleaner wastes. Everyone is a winner that way. Business and Government with input from specialist and regular people alike should be looked at.
