Retired Officer Kim D and Investigator & Law Student Sam G. went up to check out this event. We were not let down by the sheer amount of equipment and personnel at the event. A great collaboration between State/County and the FBI here.
Missing People. Most Cities in Michigan don't have helicopters but Michigan State Police will assist in any Search & Rescue, if asked. They only go over land as the Coast Guard is in charge of water surveillance and Rescue. Our Pilot, a well spoken Officer with a Military background, spoke of a recent Drug case that they were immediately taken off of to find a missing person.
They have 2 Helicopters, 2 Bells; They also have a Cessna Plane. Pilots must be street officers for 2 years (Troopers) and have a minimum of 500 hours flight time in addition to other commercial experience.
We watched this bad boy take off and it was awesome.
Thanks for reading...stay tuned for more PARTS on the MISSING IN MICHIGAN EVENT!
