Gadfly Investigations Newspaper: COOL ARTISTS MEET FOR 'ART AT CITY HALL' in Ferndale, Michigan

Gadfly Investigations Newspaper (Sam Gurwin- June 20, 2015)
The stalls were lined up in front of City Hall in Ferndale. But it wasn't just your normal event. It was a mixture of really talented Artists in the First "Art@ City Hall" Event.

More than just Artists showing of their wares (alot were 1st time sellers), they are:

(1) an outreach of the Ferndale Arts & Cultural Commission (FACC).
They are great group of citizens bringing nice events to the City of Ferndale, Michigan.

(2) this event raised money for the FACC's 'Scholastic Art Show'. This is were High School students interested in Art to win money for supplies and so forth. This art show is another brainchild of the FACC too.

COPPER ARTISAN TIMOTHY BRENNAN

Artist Tim Brennan is quite an accomplished man. He is very active in the City of Ferndale's Cultural Sphere and I was not surprised to find out his family use to have a shop in Royal Oak which sold Copper Items like the ones he makes. The shop is not around anymore but Tim has taken up his Father's interest. He created Copper, Silver and Brass objects which include rings, bowls, and figures like Angels and the like.

ARTIST GAIL W. HINCZ

I talked to Gail and found her very interesting! She creates items from alot of recycled items. From bottles to magnets, she has a great eye and talent.

ELLE DESIGNS

I met the 2 ladies that own these 2 businesses. They shared a table and their wares were amazing! I bought a hand-made ring from Dust of The Eart and my friend loved it. Elle Designs also gives 50% of their profits to Heinz C. Prechter Bipolar Research Fund. Some of the made items can take quite a while to make but usually at several sittings.

The hand made rings were my favorite. They were really cool and were made very well. My friend thought the ring was gorgeous. She might order another one too!

Kip probably has the most interesting of the Artist because she creates notebooks, booklets and other boxes to write in, keep important dates and store keepsakes. Most is created from scratch.
