Anxiety & Depression increase around the Holiday Season. Depression and Anxiety maybe caused by a reminder of a friend or loved one passing away.There is also alot of verbal conflicts with family members at gatherings and parties this time of year. Abuse of alcohol and illegal substances may also increase this time of year This is usually due to financial and unresolved family issues. People can experience guilt because the number of things that did not go right in their lives during the past calendar year.
Some interventions deal with stress and depression during the holidays include staying busy, involving yourself in activities that you enjoy and getting the support from friends and family.
