In a quaint Village North of Ann Arbor, Michigan lies a gem of a City...MANCHESTER, MICHIGAN! This charming Village throws a fun Fair every Summer- 
           MANCHESTER COMMUNITY FAIR.

Sorry to say I missed the Bull Riding and Sheep Scrabble, but did get to see the DEMOLITION DERBY and take in the Rides & Food! I need to check out more of the rural fairs as they seem alot safer and have more interesting activities!

THE RIDES...

Standard ones and super-sweet. I have grown too weak in constitution to hit any "spinning" one but there is always the Ferris Wheel! 

THE DEMOLITION DERBY...

Took alittle longer than I think to start then it needed to but the Fire Department watered down the track and I guess they had to prep for it. I only had time to stay for the first Derby (The second one had a car flip over I understand!). One car got a damaged wheel during my stay and had to stop. There were no major hits that I saw but it was still cool! It seemed pretty tame- not what I was expecting.

Fairies & Fun invade Manchester Michigan!

A great tradition of the Manchester Fairy Festival lives on in Manchester!  The Lead Fairy BUBBLINA telling stories to the children, a surprise pirate attack where the kids rescue BUBBLINA by blowing bubbles on the Pirate (changing him into a good natured fellow) and snatching the key to her cell in one of the Play Structures! At the end BUBBLINA escapes and the Pirate and the Lead Fairy become friends!

Story Time from BUBBLINA!

The Park next to the Farmers Market was a perfect place for this yearly event. A huge stuffed Unicorn was won at the end by a very happy little girl through a random drawing! The small crowd of kids had face-painting, fun on the play-structures, a few games like bean bag tossing and so much more. 

The Pirate "Left Scar from the City Afar"!

The Grand Prize of a Unicorn Stuff Animal! One lucky kid won this!

A lot of the children wore fairy outfits and wings were abundant! Face painting and small gifts- both made for free like little fairies to the cool products from Jennifer of the GARDEN MILL store!

THE PARADE!

The Fairy March around the Farmer's Market

The climax was a great parade lead by BUBBLINA who sang songs and lead the young fairies and the Pirate on a march around the Park. Bubbles were blown and music could be heard all around. The kids loved this and the proud Parents gathered in a sheltered Picnic area and watched.

The City of Manchester is involved in this event and their Rep was great to talk to about the Village and the other vendors at the Market.

MONSTERS OVER WEST VIRGINIA! Mothman Musuem Point Pleasant Visit

The Gadfly Ghost Hunting Team visited Point Pleasant to scope out the MOTHMAN MUSEUM and POINT PLEASANT, West Virginia this past weekend. It sure didn't disappoint!

Who is the MOTHMAN? In the 60's sightings of a man with Moth-like winds was reported- as serious as a car being chased by said creature. The culmination of these appearances seem to be linked to the Silver Bridge collapse in 1969- many believe a link to the collapse and a foretelling by his appearances of the horrible bridge accident was a warning...or was it done by the creature?

It is claimed also some residents experienced premonitions of the Bridge Collapse...there is some evidence.

The Museum is pretty small with 3 main areas:

(1) Outer Sales & Merchandise Area- shirts, dolls, books and more!
(2) Outer Museum- a nominal fee of 2 or 3 dollars to enter. The bulk of real artifacts, photos, journals, life-size manikins and more
(3) Movie Room- A 45 minute Documentary of the MOTHMAN and a few items are in this inner Museum Room

We watched the Documentary and made out way around the Museum. Tons of fun! We then went down to the Waterfront nearby and got a glimpse of the Silver Memorial Bridge (Former the Silver Bridge)

So this creature was seen by over 100 people in a 13 month period. How could it be fake? I mean maybe a handful but so many? The police actually held a press conference after the 2nd main sighting of a group of people in a car being chased. The Creature has been sighted in other Countries as well at major Catastrophes. 

There is a military area call the TNT area. A World War 2 munitions plant in bad repair, it is said maybe the creature is a mutant from wastes here. Another theory is the Monster is an Alien! The sightings stopped after the collapse of the bridge. The mystery continues til today!
