Sam Gurwin (Gadfly Investigations Newspaper- 10/6/15). There's still a lingering nostalgia around the great decade of the 1980's. Whats not to like about the hair, parachute pants and the members only jackets! Well, some of bloggers of THE GADFLY lived again in that decade lost... at the Freedom Hill Amphitheater. What is more 80's then RICK SPRINGFIELD,THE ROMANTICS & LOVERBOY!

On Friday, September 18th, 2015 we went to go see RICK SPRINGFIELD!... the 80's legend had 2 opening bands that we all know well....THE ROMANTICS & LOVERBOY! What a great night. All of these bands are great and well-received even now!

THE CROWD
Most were people in their 40s and 50s- but suprising amount of younger folk too. There were people who dressed in 80s fashions too in the crowd. An Usher told me one woman who dressed up won a Radio Station contest and had the run of the place.
It's kinda crazy that people are going to get food during the concert...especially during Rick's set. Why goto a concert to eat for heaven's sake. Just stay at home and watch a youtube video I would say.

FREEDOM HILL AS A CONCERT VENUE
This ampitheater had more pluses then minuses. We liked:
(1) cheaper drinks and food- it is run by a local restaurant chain so they aren't like Pine Knob or other places that border on gouging.
(2) great acoustics
(3) good organization while LEAVING the venue.

What we didn't like:
(1) The gravel parking area in the back (most people had to park here)
(2) Favoritism of Usher Staff for letting girls past their post-
not letting me up to take a good picture (me being a man)
(3) Not being able to bring a reasonable camera in for reasonable pictures.
