Detroit's Cosplay Picnic is a fun Riverfront Gala

This Detroit Cosplay Event was held June 12th behind the Renaissance Center in Downtown Detroit- and it was awesome. You ask- what is Cosplay? it is dressing as one's favorite Character from a multitude of Anime, Movies, TV Shows or other genres of said Media entertainment choices.

Creator/Organizer Desmond is a great guy and worked hard and apparently has been doing the event for 3 years. This was my first time coming and it was extraordinarily fun!

Me and a friend arrived right on time to find out the actual meeting place of the Con was changed to the area behind the building as the Food Court was permanently closed.

ACCORDION PLAYER

From Anime to Marvel Characters- the time I was there from 10:30am-1pm, I saw about 50 People. There were alot of Anime, Star Wars (3 Groups including my Crazy Cosplay Adventures) and a few Random Creations! More came after I left including the Belly-Dancing Troupes who performed later in the afternoon. We moved down from behind the Renaissance Center to the Carousel & Food Service Cafe around 12:30pm

"SPONGE BOB SQUARE PANTS THEME" by the ACCORDION PLAYER!

 An amazing Accordion Player (not hired but a Cosplayer) was there. He really played well and keep the Event cool- he even played State Wars Music during the Light-Saber Duels!

My cosplay Non-Profit (Crazy Cosplay Adventures) offered a 1st & 2nd place prize for best 2 Cosplayers! I forgot to give the money to Desmond before I left- I put out a few posts asking to find the Winners- Never did find the 2nd place Winner but I actually know the 1st place Winner- My Cosplay Friend AJ (From Michigan Spider People on Facebook!).

Just a fun time. I highly recommend this Event! Desmond is having a similar Event at the Zoo this Summer! It is already planned:
