EVIL CLOWNS & STRANGE FEARS: PHOBIAFEST IN TROY IS WORTH THE VISIT!

Perhaps the fears are all in your mind or maybe not. Well, the one place to explore was PHOBIAFEST in Troy at the up-and-coming MOTION PICTURE INSTITUTE OF MICHIGAN (MPI) located in beautiful Troy, Michigan.

'ZOMBIE SODA' was showing their wares @PHOBIAFEST 2016!

Saturday was an all-day affair dealing with Phobias or specific

fears of objects, animals or people. 

INDEPENDENT FILMMAKERS were present & showing their productions! 

Realistic FX & EFFECTS for the Movie Industry was showcased!

The Festival area were 2 large warehouse areas within the building MPI leases. One part had the vendors, Make-Up Preparations, Horror Authors, Horror Movie Movie-Stars and more! The other area was the live presentation area for the Dog Awareness centering on the Rottweiler and dogs people are scared of; the swift-fighting show of the Ring of Steel Theatre;  and the end-point of the "March of The Evil Clowns".

There were several Production Companies centering on this genre. From  start-ups to well established Outlets, they were all passionate about their craft.

Talking to several students and a Marketing Manager of several of these institutions was great. They were very friendly and spoke about making up the "Evil Clowns"  for the Parade later in day at this Festival. The classic effects training are making a come-back and mastering the way make-up as done in the beginning of the Horror Industry makes a student more job-ready.

Foster & Hahn were super-nice. I always find the Horror-Genre Actors are the nicest at the festivals and conventions.

Mr. Hahn was a former Wrestler and a current Movie Star in this Genre. Due to a brain injury he can't wrestle anymore but is very active in the EVIL CLOWN/HORROR MOVIE FIELD. He is quite well-spoken and very nice.

Mrs. Foster is a Icon in th Scifi & Horror Movie industry. She said she doesn't have a favorite but favors a Movie she was in not related to to Horror Industry. She has been in alot of films from Romance to Science-Fiction.

Gordon Shell & his professional team of Animal Welfare Activist demostrated techniques of identifying & handling wild animal incidences. They also had a booth at the event. He was very knowledgeable and a pleasure to talk to.

Behind the Band Microphone: Detroit's FOSTER BROOKS BAND PRACTICE

Late into the night, the men of FOSTER BROOKS BAND meet to practice the activity they love- ROCK MUSIC. The Suburban Home of one of the Band members holds a specialty-built Studio created out of that love.

The Band, consisting of Lead Singer Sam Gray, Electric Guitarist Andy Markowitz, Keyboardist & Vocalist Doug Kahan, Bassist Mark Anderson and Drummer Scott Gittleman are all Professionals by day- Doctors, Builders and more...but their practices during the week, late after a hard days work is very rewarding. "Therapeutic" and "Hanging with my Buds" harps Sam Gray between songs at this practice- with a big smile on his face. There is agreement in this cozy & sound-proof practice loft.

                       PERFECTING THE SONGS FOR THE NEXT GIG!

The Band goes over the proposed set list...skipping some songs they have mastered but hitting hard some that need some fine tuning. Discussion after playing but sometimes stopping in the middle of a song is just the nature of the Rock Beast here.
