IRISH EYES ARE SMILING as well as Everyone else that had PIZZA & WINGS at Blarney Stone Pub! Food Review

I have to admit that I come to this Pub quite often. One walks in and it is a cool relaxing standard issue Irish Pub. This one is above average as it seems more inviting with a large group of tables in the middle of the place, To the right side are the comfortable booths. They have a pool table and several video games including...THAT DART GAME!. Awesome.

CHECK OUT OUR VIDEO BELOW....Trivia, Good Food and Great Service!

THE GADFLY has to say this is probably the best Pizza we have had so far.

THANKS FOR WATCHING AND READING! :)

Michigan State Police Labs- The Real World versus Television- Our interview with a Lab Supervisor

A Crime Lab Modified Truck for the Mich. State Police  #gadflyin
The officer has blue fatigues different from the other officers. He was standing near a modified van. He is a Lab Supervisor from one of the Michigan state Police Crime Labs.

There are 7 State police Labs in Michigan which including 2 in Southeast Michigan. The Michigan State Police (MSP)  have "Crime Scene Response Teams" that help other police agencies.
Surprisingly ALOT OF TECHNOLOGY is not used! His quote was they use "good lightning and cameras".
A crime scene analysis case for the Mich State Police.  #gadflyin
Footprint ID box, Camera Mount and lightning for a crime scene.  #gadflyin
The kits they use have things like tape for fingerprints, footwear molds, blood-collecting supplies and other supplies that are not as 'high tech' as one would think. They are busier in the Lansing Lab as opposed to the Bridgeport lab. THE GADFLY thinks the demographic of big city/more people plays a role in the business of the labs.
Inside a Michigan State Police Mobile Crime Lab  #gadflying
The MSP will help Detroit area agencies at their request. He said Oakland County is forming their own lab. We will keep you updated on this interesting development. The interview in a nutshell was the technology has not changed alot in the last few years. Solid historical collection techniques is still "KING".

Not like on the TV shoes for sure in the field!

Thanks for reading! Stay tuned for more MSP stuff!

#Gadflyin in the Motor City at Motor City Casino for Slots and More

Motor City Casino
Fun day at Motor City Casino playing the slot machines.  Personally, I broke even.  It had been a while since I was in a gambling establishment and had to reorient myself with all the new machines.  I can not believe how many video slots they have now, but I still like the mechanical machines with the reels that spin.  I also miss putting in coins and hearing them drop in the coin tray when you win.   For all you who are interested in the odds, here is a link to an interesting story about 'Paybacks'.  http://articles.sun-sentinel.com/2013-01-30/business/fl-slot-payouts-013013-20130130_1_slot-machine-loose-slot-frank-scoblete
Meanwhile back at Motor City Casino:  the employees are all helpful, friendly and nice.  Had lunch at the Grand River Deli and ordered half a sandwich and soup.  Wow - that was a lot of food.  The half a sandwich was huge and stuffed with tons of meat and the soup was a meal by itself.  Enjoyed walking around the lobby of the Sound Board and looking at the pictures and guitars from past performers.  They also had a signed tambourine from Stevie Nicks and a signed banjo from Steve Martin.  Here for your viewing pleasure is a fun video of The Village People at the Sound Board Motor City Casino singing Macho Man.  You know this will make you smile. :)

Did Somebody Say FREE Pizza?

Blaze Pizza Royal Oak
Was reading the Royal Oak Patch today and saw that the new pizzeria in Royal Oak- Blaze Pizza, was offering FREE pizza from 5 PM til 11 PM.  Needless to say I headed on over to get me some FREE pizza.  Of course there was a line, but all things considered it moved quickly.  All in all I was in and out in a little less than an hour.  They advertise that the pizza is cooked in 120 seconds and I believe it.  They have a big oven and you can watch them bake it.   Blaze offers signature pizzas or you can build your own.  The set up reminds me of Subway, you select your sauce, cheese, meat and veggies.  I decided to build my own and went with the red sauce, mozzarella, NO meat and LOTS of veggies. See my creation below.  Of course it is NOT NY style pizza, but I did enjoy it and would have it again.  However; next time I would opt for more cheese.    Thank you Blaze Pizza for the FREE pizza, I enjoyed it.

DETROIT'S PLACE TO BE FOR CONCERTS- THE CROFOOT BALLROOM- Part 1

We recently went to the Crofoot Ballroom for 2 Concerts, Father John Misty & CocoRosie. We were not allowed to take pictures or get any video per the Management of both acts. Sorry folks ): We did get a short interview with a Manager when we went to go get the tickets at the Beautiful Crofoot Ballroom building.

Main Street Corner. One of the oldest in Oakland County, Michigan!    #gadflyin

Saginaw Street looking at Pike Street.  #gadflyin
The nice staff directed me to the Office which is in the basement. It is a stairwell down into the depths of Pontiac history. The Stone in the foundation which showed in place looks to be from the original foundation. We met a great manager who was nice enough to see if we could take video and pictures for the COCOROSIE & FATHER JOHN MISTY CONCERTS. He walked us out after wards and told us the history of the building. We stood outside the entrance talking of the trail that existed right at Pike and Saginaw. The City of Pontiac grew around the spot we were standing on! My mind wandered to the past as he spoke of a great fire that burned the other side of Pike Street in the Mid-1800's. This fire was confirmed by Charlie at the Oakland County Pioneer and Historical Society. There was also a Hotel across the street which burned down in the 1960's. Urban renewal of the 1960's had a big impact on the city according to this Manager too.
Next door to Elektricity NightClub. We are trying to get  permission to do a story there! #gadflyin

The entrance during the concerts. Nice Mural!  #gadflyin

The foundation as we descended to the Business Office to get tickets...pretty cool. From the Mid-1800's!

The Crofoot Ballroom. Professional Staff & Good fun!  #gadflyin

Another view of Saginaw. This corner (Pike/Saginaw) was a commence trial in the 1840's!
We will find out more when we have another interview with our Manager Friend. Thanks for reading!

Imagine people's excitement as they walk this way to goto a concert!

Across the street to the west. A beautiful Hotel was there until a fire in the 1960's

IF YOU WANT IT-THEY WILL BUILD IT! Custom Motorcycles by Golgotha Cycles

Driving by a plain looking building I noticed a bunch of interesting looking motorcycles. One really caught my eye. Her name is "General Grunge" and she a beauty! I had to see what was going on here!

"General Grunge" in her glory!  #gadflyin

Wow. PI Sam just couldn't resist going into Golgotha Cycles while he was up in Lansing, Michigan today.
THE GADFLY interviewed the Owner and his family. A great Michigan small business. They opened in 2006. They create, modify, service and repair motorcycles. The Owner started out in Motor cross and has always loved cycles.

They can create what you want. Call them. The time could be around 6 months but the GADFLY thinks you will definitely get your dream made into reality!

A beautiful chrome machine- James Dean would love this bike!  #gadflyin

The  trend right now is to modify 80's era bikes. A big part of their business right now is this. They have a great service department that can do almost anything including the simple stuff like oil changes.

This looks like one of those 80's modified bikes. Looks great!  #gadflyin
Tomorrow is Customer appreciation Day! A TV Crew is scheduled to be there. They will have door prizes, great conversation and of course...CUSTOM MOTORCYCLES!

Woodward Dream Cruise 2013 Police Presence

Woodward Dream Cruise 2013 Dodge

Woodward Dream Cruise 2013 Police Bike Patrol
Had a great #Gadflyin time at the Woodward Dream Cruise 2013.  Yes, I know that was in August, but it is fun looking back at the pictures and recalling all the great cars I saw.  I always enjoy seeing the Police vehicles, The first Police car I drove was a 1988 Dodge Diplomat. Also enjoyed seeing the two wheel Police vehicles, AKA Bike Patrol.

This is Motor City and Gadfly Wants to Know What is Your Dream Car?

Lil Red Express - old style Woodward Dream Cruise

Lil Red at Woodward Dream Cruise

Everyone has a dream car, the car that they would get if they could choose any car they wanted and cost wasn't a factor.  I like cars, but I have always liked pickup trucks.  I think it goes back to my Uncle Sal, he was a pickup truck guy and he would always take me for rides in his various trucks he had over the years and I loved it.  So, whether I'm at the Dream Cruise or Arts, Beats and Eats you'll find me looking at and taking pictures of the pickup trucks.  If I could have my choice of any one I wanted I'm not sure whether I would choose a classic or one of the new Quad cabs.  Here are some pictures of ones I took over the summer.

Reflections on Arts, Beats and Eats 2013 - Wolcott Mill Metropark Petting Zoo

Wolcott Mill Metropark at Arts, Beats and Eats

More reflections on Arts, Beats and Eats 2013.  I am again in the Kid Zone at Arts, Beats and Eats because I am a kid at heart.   I was not disappointed as the Wolcott Mill Metropark had a petting zoo there and  I LOVE animals.  What a cool collection of wonderful farm animals they had there and I got to pet them.  I think I will be making a trip to the Wolcott Mill Metropark in the near future and report about it in The Gadfly Investigations Newspaper.   You can see more pictures on our Pinterest page http://www.pinterest.com/pisamindad
