Frenchie Skate - One More Time

Can't believe it has already been a week since Frenchie Skate, I had such a great time.  The performances were awesome and it was nice to get to meet the skaters after the show ( thank you all for posing so patiently for pictures).  Dancing with the Stars starts tonight with Meryl Davis and Charlie White competing against each other and in little more than a week the World Championships will start.

But right now I just want to remember the great time I had at Frenchie Skate and all the highlights:
  • All the money that was raised for a great cause
  • The future of US Ice Dance looks good thanks to Holly Moore/Daniel Klaber, Alissandra Arnow/Colin Brubaker and Alexandra Aldridge/Daniel Eaton
  • North American Ice Dance looks great.  Just wondering will Maia & Alex Shibutani and Kaitlyn Weaver/Andrew Poje be the next Davis/White and Virtue/Moir?
  • Jason Brown is a YouTube sensation with over 4 million views of his Riverdance, yet he remains humble and soooo nice.  What a great guy and friend to fly to Michigan to help out his friend Georgia Glastris.
  • 10 year old Alexei Dewain's skate and then saying he "...wanted to raise money for the children in the hospital."
  • Eladj Blade - Michael Jackson never looked better.
  • Alissa Czisny spinning
  • Michael Buckley was as funny as ever and kudos to him for flying in from CT to help out
  • Jeremy Abbott showed why he is a 4 time National Champion
  • Georgia Glastris putting together a great show for a great cause (NortStar Reach) in memory of her friend (Francesca Frenchie Persico) - very inspiring

My favorite take aways:

  • The  above photo  of Georgia Glastris with her dad.  So great to meet both of them - they couldn't have been nicer
  •  Michigan is more than the Big 3 Automakers it is also the Big 3 Skating Clubs
  • The skating community is AWESOME
