Mission-
Solve Social Malfeasance, Find Missing Persons and assist local Communities to investigate criminal & civil wrongs. Promote local culture and events to better the community.
In the up-scale part of Saginaw the Zombies slowly descended upon THE BEARDED AXE, a respite for wary Axe-Throwers & relaxation Buffs. It's nearing Halloween and the Ghouls & ghastly creatures roam the U.S.! With so many Events closed due to Covid-19 it is a nice respite for the Cosplay addict.
THE BUSINESS SIDE
Yet another fabulous Event sponsored by Saginaw's FETT'S TOY DEPOT & COSPLAY FLIGHTS & FANDOMS. Both have a small sampling of their wares- Fett's with collectibles and Cosplay Flight with Jewelry and related items. The Venue, THE BEARDED AXE, of course has Axe & other projectile throwing along with t-shirts and snacks.
THE HELPING SIDE
The businesses started a Charity called HEROES HELPING HEROES- local homeless Veterans & also the Vets at the local Saginaw VA Hospital get "Care Packets" and Lap Blankets, respectively. They recently started making the Packets for the Saginaw Food Bank, the Old Town Christian Outreach Center and the 1st Presbyterian Church. This Charity is starting to grow and could use all the help it can get.
COSPLAY FLIGHT had 2 "Wound/Zombie bite" stations where for a donation the Staff would make a wound on you. Their skill was spot-on.
We met Amelia, Fett's "Biggest Gore Fan Girl". Bubbly, intelligent & a real Zombie aficionado, we talked about Zombie Movies, FX wounds and how to walk like a Zombie.
Just another Event for Hobby Store Owner Paul King and Cosplay Page Owner Brandy Moore as they hit another home-run in their Community-oriented Businesses. Fett's Toy Depot and Cosplay Flight & Fandoms had another fun and successful Cosplay Event at their usual haunt, THE BEARDED AXE in Saginaw, Michigan.
MARVEL DAY, an Event celebrating Marvel, a comic book and entertainment Company started around 1939. It has a huge following and has spawned meritorious Superhero stories, movies and other related media entertainment. Anti-Venom, Captain America, Ronin, Wolverine were among the Cosplayers present at this fun Event. The kids attending loved it. Also, ZACHZILLA's Food Truck was there to feed the hungry Heroes and fans! I had a Burger and fries...it was really good
Paul organized Kids activities half-way through the Event outside. These included Throwing Thor's Hammer into a tower of blocks, a small obstacle course and a Captain America soft-dart pistol target practice.
The Professional Photography Studio KIMBERLY ANNE was there to capture the moments. A personable Photographer was Kimberly- we talked shop and discussed the many rewarding situations the lens can bring people! I saw some of her photos- they looked great! I loved one action shot outside at the Children's Event where she caught a great action shot.
There was a Axe Throwing Contest- alot of fun. Really a great atmosphere at THE BEARDED AXE. A family-fun place!
A large Warehouse fitted with wood targets for Axe & archaic ranged-weapon throwing, the Axe is a fun and well-managed place. The Staff teaches one how to throw the weapons and teaches the safety procedures to their guests. They have snacks, swag and alot of cool throwing weapons like axes, throwing stars and the "batman" throwing weapon!
Paul's love of the Collectible Universe of Sci-Fi & such gave him the idea to start a shop after he got out the U.S. Navy. Since then he has been finding hard to get items for his Customers & helping the greater Saginaw Community too. Paul is active a Scout Leader, Veteran Advocate & volunteer for his son's school. Please look at Paul's awesome Store page! Alot of cool stuff there!
Brady's huge heart and Cosplay love comes out as the main Host for MARVEL NIGHT. Well organized and very creative with Outfits & Jewerly creations, she really put on a great Event with Paul. I was lucky enough to hear her reasons for starting her Charity (HEROES HELPING HEROES). Veterans returning with a horrible "sadness" sometimes take their own lives. She wants to help these heroes in everyway she can. She with Paul of FETT'S TOY DEPOT started a program of "Care Packages" including snacks, toiletries , a resource list and home-made afghans/blankets to assist in this upcoming winter in the Saginaw area. Check out her page and give it a thumbs up!
It is great to know there are other Community-oriented COSPLAYERS out there! Here are some links and information on the people/groups I mentioned in this article:
